For Vendors
*** SEA GLASS and BEACH ARTS ***
BAZAAR
Vendor Registration Information
Overview
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to sell your coastal artworks during the weekend of the 2012 International Beachcombing Conference. Vendors will also be located at the Virden Center, which is adjacent to conference lecture rooms and cafeteria.
This year's Beach Arts Bazaar will be a closed, in-house affair on Friday and Saturday.
You must be a registered participant to book table space. Particpants (including vendors from last year) who want to display/sell their artistic creations on those two days will pay a small booking fee above registration costs. The Bazzar room will be open for extended periods between lectures and field trips.
Participants who want to book a table on Sunday during Coast Day, a yearly event that attracts thousands of people, can purchase patio space on Sunday for a seperate fee.
Because of space limitations, we can only accept about 12 vendors and seek a mix of sea glass, shell, and coastal artworks and utilitarian items.
Fees
Fees are $75 for Friday and Saturday, and $100 for Sunday. Two chairs, an eight-foot table, and electricity will be provided to all vendors. Vendors are expected to furnish their own tablecloths, power strips and extension cords.
The artist or a representative must be present in the booth during the “open” hours of each day. Although doors will be locked Friday and Saturday evening and vendors can leave their merchandise there, conference staff will not be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged goods; hence, vendors are encouraged to remove valuables Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. On Sunday, vendors are asked to refrain from packing up their merchandise until after 4:00 pm and are responsible for the complete removal and disposal of all material and trash from their booth space.
Application Procedure
At least 75% of goods sold must be coastal-themed and all merchandise must be handmade or personally-designed arts and craft items not created from store-bought molds, pre-manufactured components or kits. Sea glass jewelry must be original sea or beach glass and not twice-tossed, tumbled or fake glass. Vendors are not permitted to sell items made from endangered marine life such as Black Coral, Turtle Shell or rare, exotic shells. In the spirit of the conferences goals, we hope all vendors will consciously make an effort to sell items made from renewable resources and produced from and with environmentally friendly materials.Vendors who have not participated in past IBC's should send a sample or email some photos of their artworks so the committee can determine if the merchandise is primarily beach-and maritime-related. Email: beachcombingconference@gmail.com
Vendor applications will be reviewed and accepted until September 15, 2012 or until we have filled the quota of spaces available. Applications received after that will be accepted space permitting.
Once your application has been received, you will receive an email confirmation within 10 business days.
All vendors are required to collect their own Delaware sales tax and have a current sales tax ID number.
